Take a photo or keep one defective receipt before making a change. Print another after each step. If several changes are made at once, a temporary improvement won't reveal which action fixed the problem.

Before cleaning or changing settings

Identify the exact printer model and locate its current user or technical manual. Cleaning agents, exposed parts, cover mechanisms, density controls, and self-test button sequences vary.

Then:

  1. Finish or redirect active receipt jobs.
